Did philosophers like aristotle and socrates sit around all day and just think?
It really depends on what happened, I heard that Socrates spend all day on one spot because he was so overtaken by his thoughts. But then again he was walking around Athens and one person said "Even a slave forced to live in such conditions would soon escape", but as far as I know the main part of the thought was done in a place called The Agora (the market place) and the sophists were in a group called the pepetitics (those who walk around thinking) under Socrates and Aristotle had his own school of thought.
