What books are like 1984 or Uncle Tom's Cabin?

Im not really looking for dystopian novels, rather, novels that were written or used as propaganda. Uncle Tom's Cabin was used as propaganda to fuel the civil war. 1984 was used as propaganda against totalitairanism. (i think thats spelled wrong) Anyways, im doing an 8 page report on Orwell's book 1984, and i need more info on how it was propaganda. i have notecards and everything, but am unsure of what my thesis should be. thanks for the help! =]
