Why is south America so white?

There was heavy European immigration to South America for many years. You can read a little bit about it here a href="http://www.everyculture.com/South-America/Europeans-in-South-America.html" rel="nofollow"http://www.everyculture.com/South-Americ…/a I have cousins in Argentina - tons of them - and we're Nordic. I'm the only one in my family in the USA though. For some reason a lot of Europeans seem to prefer South America. ~shrug~
